Once upon a time, in a snow-covered land far, far away, there lived a sweet baby penguin named Percy. Percy was a happy little bird who loved to play and explore, but when it came to bedtime, he just didn’t want to sleep.
Every night, Percy’s family would tuck him into his cozy nest and sing him lullabies. But no matter how tired he was, Percy would always squirm and wriggle, trying to stay awake for just a little longer.
His parents tried everything they could think of to make him sleepy. They read him stories about adventure and magic, played soothing music, and even gave him warm milk. But nothing seemed to work, and Percy would keep tossing and turning, wide awake.
One day, Percy’s wise grandmother paid a visit to their nest. She had lived many years and had seen many baby penguins like Percy who didn’t want to sleep. She gently patted Percy’s head and whispered some words in his ear.
“Young Percy,” she said, “I know that sleep seems like a boring thing to do, but it is the most important thing for a growing penguin like you. When you sleep, your body and mind rest, and you wake up feeling strong and happy. And when you’re strong and happy, you can have even more fun playing and exploring.”
Percy thought about his grandmother’s words for a moment. She was right! He did love to play and explore, and he needed to rest to do so. So he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. And before he knew it, he was fast asleep.
From that day on, Percy became a pro at bedtime. He would snuggle into his nest, listen to his parents’ sweet songs, and let his mind and body rest. And every morning, he woke up feeling ready for new adventures.
The end.
